Dispatch Supervisor

About the role

Our client, a leading food manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced Dispatch Supervisor to oversee daily dispatch operations. You will lead a team of drivers and loading assistants, ensuring that orders are prepared, loaded, and delivered efficiently while meeting strict quality and food‑safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and motivate drivers and vehicle loading assistants to meet daily dispatch targets.
• Supervise accurate loading and dispatch of customer orders, verifying quality, packaging, batch, and temperature requirements.
• Coordinate loading schedules and delivery routes, and verify invoices, trip sheets, and dispatch documentation.
• Monitor stock handling to minimise damage and waste, and maintain housekeeping standards in the dispatch area.
• Train and mentor new team members and enforce food safety, quality, and health & safety procedures.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies, assist with month‑end stock takes, and support the Dispatch Manager in daily operations.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Dispatch, Warehouse or Logistics Supervisor, preferably in FMCG or food manufacturing.
• Strong leadership and team‑management abilities.
• Excellent organisational and problem‑solving skills.
• Good understanding of food safety, quality and health & safety standards.
• Own reliable transport and availability for the afternoon shift (14:00‑23:00).
