Groups and Incentives Travel Specialist

About the role

A leading luxury African travel company is recruiting an experienced Groups & Incentives Travel Specialist to join its team. The role suits a creative, detail-oriented travel professional with strong group travel experience who enjoys designing itineraries across Africa. The position is based in Sandton, Johannesburg, and is permanent.

Key responsibilities

• Design and create innovative leisure group and incentive travel itineraries.
• Manage group reservations from initial enquiry and quotation through to final booking.
• Understand client requirements and work within allocated budgets.
• Coordinate with agents, guests, suppliers and internal teams.
• Prepare quotations, invoices and travel documentation.
• Proactively recommend and sell travel products and experiences.
• Ensure exceptional service delivery throughout the booking process.

Required profile

• At least 5 years' experience specialising in group travel; incentives experience is advantageous.
• Excellent geographical and product knowledge of South Africa, Botswana, Tanzania and Kenya; experience with other African destinations is an advantage.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Negotiation, organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure with exceptional attention to detail.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Tourplan or a similar booking system.
• Advanced computer literacy, particularly MS Word and Excel.
