Director, Africa Mining Coverage

About the role
Standard Bank is seeking a Director to lead coverage of the African mining sector from its Johannesburg office.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute the bank’s coverage strategy for mining companies across Africa.
- Provide market insights and analysis to support client relationships and transaction opportunities.
- Coordinate with product teams to deliver financing solutions tailored to the mining industry.
- Monitor regulatory developments affecting mining operations in African jurisdictions.
- Identify new business opportunities and lead deal origination for mining projects.
- Represent the bank in industry conferences and stakeholder meetings.
Required profile
- Senior professional with proven experience in banking or financial services covering the mining sector.
- Strong knowledge of African markets and the mining industry.
- Demonstrated track record of delivering revenue growth in the natural resources sector.
- Ability to lead a coverage team and manage client relationships at a senior level.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
