Digital Payments Credentials Developer

About the role

We are looking for a senior analyst developer to join our Johannesburg office on a 24‑month renewable contract. You will work on a mission‑critical national payments platform, supporting both domestic and cross‑border payment systems that underpin the financial ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, maintain and support national payment solutions.
• Implement and support IBM MQ integrations and related web applications.
• Deliver robust, scalable Java‑based services and C# components.
• Collaborate with architects, developers and payment industry specialists to ensure operational stability and regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years of experience as a senior developer, analyst developer or technical specialist in enterprise environments.
• At least 8 years of hands‑on development experience with Java and C#.
• Proven experience with Spring Boot, JDBC, JPA, Java EE/Jakarta EE, and Angular applications.
• Experience in integration technologies such as IBM MQ (JMS), REST APIs, micro‑services, XSD, XSL and XML.
• Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines (GitLab) and Unix/Linux environments.
• Background in domestic and cross‑border payment systems, RTGS platforms, and financial market infrastructure.
• Knowledge of ISO 15022 and ISO 20022 messaging standards.
