Diesel Technician – Commercial Truck Workshop (Midvaal)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Diesel Technician to join a high‑volume commercial truck workshop in Midvaal. The role involves servicing a wide range of heavy vehicles for fleet operators, logistics companies and owner‑drivers, ensuring high technical standards and productivity.

Key responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, servicing and repairs on commercial trucks and heavy vehicles.
• Identify mechanical, electrical and electronic faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing on fleet vehicles.
• Execute engine, drivetrain, braking, suspension and electrical repairs.
• Attend to roadside breakdowns and provide field service when required.
• Maintain workshop productivity and meet repair time standards.
• Complete job cards, service records and technical reports accurately.
• Support foremen and service advisors in resolving complex faults.
• Uphold safe working practices and workshop housekeeping standards.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric qualification.
• Trade‑tested Diesel Mechanic or Diesel Technician certificate (essential).
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a commercial truck workshop or dealership environment.
• Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic abilities.
• Experience with heavy commercial vehicles and exposure to leading truck brands.
• Ability to work independently in a busy workshop.
