Diesel Mechanic

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our workshop team. You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing diesel-powered vehicles and ensuring a safe, efficient work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on diesel vehicles.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical faults.
• Repair diesel engines and associated vehicle systems.
• Maintain diesel engines and electrical systems.
• Inspect wheel alignment and verify component specifications.
• Identify non‑conforming parts and coordinate replacements.
• Collaborate with colleagues while upholding a strong safety culture.

Required profile

• Technical qualification in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
• 3–4 years experience with commercial vehicles such as trucks, buses, trains or other heavy‑duty equipment.
• Experience maintaining and repairing diesel or petrol‑powered vehicles.
• Willingness to work shifts.
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans.
• Valid driver’s licence.

What we offer

• 2‑year fixed‑term contract (40 hours/week) with potential for long‑term employment.
• Monthly salary €4,000 – €4,357 based on experience.
• 25 paid annual leave days plus additional ADV days and up to 7 public holidays.
• Holiday allowance of 8.33 % of gross annual salary paid in May.
• Overtime and shift allowances where applicable.
• Travel allowance €0.23 per kilometre for commuting.
• Relocation support to the Netherlands, including €3,000 net allowance, accommodation assistance, visa and work‑permit support, and onboarding services.
