DevOps Infrastructure Specialist

About the role

The Specialist: DevOps Infrastructure will design, develop and continuously improve secure infrastructure automation capabilities that enable Zero Touch Operations across on‑premise platforms, private cloud, public cloud and operational technology teams. The role drives faster delivery through reusable automation patterns, infrastructure‑as‑code practices, integration standards and governed self‑service workflows, improving reliability, consistency, compliance and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build enterprise automation and orchestration capabilities to move operational teams toward Zero Touch Operations.
• Create reusable automation patterns, workflow templates, integration standards and common services for safe, standardized self‑service execution.
• Develop, test and maintain infrastructure‑as‑code, configuration‑as‑code and workflow automation that integrates with cloud platforms, APIs, repositories, pipelines and operational toolsets.
• Provide technical guidance, enablement and escalation support for production automation, including exception handling, failure remediation, access controls, auditability and resilience.
• Maintain automation documentation, coding standards, runbooks and knowledge‑sharing material to improve adoption, supportability, compliance and reuse.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (or equivalent) and a 3‑year bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of relevant experience in infrastructure automation, platform engineering, DevOps or cloud automation.
• Relevant certifications in automation, cloud, DevOps or platform engineering are desirable.
• Practical experience with workflow automation, orchestration, virtualization, containers, Kubernetes, ITSM tools, APIs and monitoring systems.
• Experience automating Windows and Linux server operating systems (provisioning, configuration, patching, compliance, lifecycle).

Required skills

• Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) and Configuration‑as‑Code.
• Enterprise automation platforms such as Ansible Automation Platform or equivalent.
• Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Automation of Windows Server and Linux environments.
• Integration with private and public cloud platforms, APIs and ITSM tools.
• Event‑driven automation and governed self‑service execution.
