About the role
The City of Tshwane is seeking ten Desktop Technicians on a two‑year fixed‑term contract to provide functional ICT support to end users across the municipality.
Key responsibilities
- Set up, configure and install new hardware equipment.
- Perform software and hardware maintenance.
- Provide efficient technical support to all end users.
- Maintain an inventory of hardware devices.
- Investigate and resolve hardware and software faults.
- Perform other technical support and administrative duties.
- Ensure daily service‑level agreements are met.
Required profile
- Grade 12 qualification.
- One to two years’ experience in ICT end‑user or desktop support.
- Must undergo a criminal record check and provide fingerprints.
- Planning and organising skills.
- Strong oral communication and user‑support abilities.
- Data conversion capability and cognitive ability.
Required skills
- A+ certification (preferred).
- Computer literacy.
