Desktop Technician – 2-Year Fixed-Term (10 positions)

About the role

The City of Tshwane is seeking ten Desktop Technicians on a two‑year fixed‑term contract to provide functional ICT support to end users across the municipality.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, configure and install new hardware equipment.
• Perform software and hardware maintenance.
• Provide efficient technical support to all end users.
• Maintain an inventory of hardware devices.
• Investigate and resolve hardware and software faults.
• Perform other technical support and administrative duties.
• Ensure daily service‑level agreements are met.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification.
• One to two years’ experience in ICT end‑user or desktop support.
• Must undergo a criminal record check and provide fingerprints.
• Planning and organising skills.
• Strong oral communication and user‑support abilities.
• Data conversion capability and cognitive ability.

Required skills

• A+ certification (preferred).
• Computer literacy.
