Design Engineer (Renewable Energy)

About the role

We are looking for a Design Engineer to join our high‑performing engineering team delivering renewable energy and power infrastructure projects in Johannesburg. The role focuses on detailed electrical design and technical documentation for solar PV and related power systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical designs for solar PV installations and associated MV/LV power systems.
• Produce comprehensive technical drawings and documentation using CAD/design software.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure designs meet engineering standards, electrical regulations and project execution requirements.
• Validate that designs are efficient, compliant and aligned with client specifications.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• 3–7 years of experience in electrical design within renewable energy, power or EPC environments.
• Proven experience with solar PV system design and MV/LV infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of engineering standards and electrical regulations.
• Proficiency in CAD/design software and ability to produce detailed technical drawings.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
