Architect – Johannesburg

About the role

The Johannesburg office is seeking a skilled Architect to join the Hatch Architecture team. The role involves producing architectural deliverables, collaborating with designers, engineers and project managers, and coordinating work across disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Develop architectural designs for buildings and facilities, creating conceptual, schematic and detailed deliverables.
• Produce presentation material, free‑hand sketches and graphic representations using design software.
• Generate construction drawing sets, reports, specifications and other documentation throughout design stages.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary design with discipline leads, project managers and stakeholders.
• Assist senior architects and interior designers on delegated tasks and mentor junior staff.

Required profile

• 5‑10 years post‑qualification experience, preferably in a consulting engineering environment.
• Professional Architect registration (SACAP) and Master of Architecture degree.
• Experience with brownfield and greenfield industrial projects and knowledge of local and international building codes.
• Proven ability to work in virtual, multi‑disciplinary teams and manage project documentation.
