Deputy Group Chief Financial Officer

About the role

The Deputy Group Chief Financial Officer will support the Group CFO in overseeing the financial management of the GGDA group of companies. This senior position involves ensuring robust financial reporting, compliance, and strategic budgeting across multiple subsidiaries.

Key responsibilities

• Manage finance operations and develop financial reporting systems for the group.
• Assist the Group CFO with consolidation of annual financial statements, performance reporting, and budget planning.
• Oversee internal and external audit requirements, resolve audit queries, and monitor payroll processes.
• Provide financial oversight for subsidiaries, including monitoring budgets, expenditures, and financial risks.
• Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports in line with the financial calendar.
• Develop and monitor annual capital commitment and expenditure budgets for the Finance and Supply Chain unit.
• Establish standardized finance processes, controls, and systems across the GGDA group.
• Ensure compliance with the Public Finance Management Act, Treasury Regulations, and GGDA’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.

Required profile

• BCom accounting degree, Chartered Accountant qualification or a postgraduate qualification in Finance/Business.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in the public sector.
• Strong knowledge of PFMA, Treasury Regulations, GAAP, Auditor General requirements and state procurement policies.
• Ability to analyse data trends and identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.
