Deputy Director – Financial Services (Infrastructure – DORA)

About the role

The Mpumalanga Department of Education is seeking a Deputy Director to lead financial management functions for infrastructure projects and programmes. The role involves overseeing financial administration, budgeting, and supply chain management for the Chief Directorate.

Key responsibilities

• Give direction to and coordinate all Financial Management functions for the Chief Directorate, including financial and supply chain issues related to infrastructure projects.
• Extract, analyse and validate financial information for infrastructure projects and programmes.
• Provide financial administration services for all infrastructure programmes and projects.
• Prepare financial reports and support budget administration.
• Update and maintain a document management system for all financial documentation.

Required profile

• Appropriate degree (NQF 7) in Commerce, Accounting or Economics.
• At least five years of relevant post‑qualification experience.
• Computer literacy and understanding of government financial management and infrastructure budgeting.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Willingness to undertake pre‑entry practical and integrity assessments.
