Debtors Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Debtors Manager to lead the credit, collections and debtor management function for a leading services provider in the manufacturing sector. Based in Bedfordview, Johannesburg, the role will oversee the full accounts‑receivable cycle, ensuring timely collection from insurance clients and maintaining healthy cash flow.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement credit policies and collection strategies for insurance business accounts.
• Lead a team of at least 15 staff, providing coaching, performance management and workload planning.
• Monitor ageing reports, identify delinquent accounts and drive effective recovery actions.
• Coordinate with sales and finance to resolve disputes and optimise credit terms.
• Prepare regular management reports on debtor performance and cash flow impact.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Credit Management or a related field.
• Minimum five years of experience in credit, collections or accounts‑receivable, preferably within the insurance sector.
• Proven experience managing a team of 15 or more employees.
• South African citizenship.
