Data Technologist – Forensic Analytics

About the role

The Financial Intelligence Centre seeks a Data Technologist to support forensic investigations and law‑enforcement initiatives. You will work with large financial datasets, develop analytical tools and ensure data quality for crime‑fighting purposes.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with business teams to gather requirements, develop new data sources and create custom management tools for forensic analysis.
• Perform database programming, write SQL scripts, stored procedures and functions, and support data integration and migration activities.
• Conduct quality‑assurance testing, resolve database issues and improve performance, reliability and scalability.
• Design anomaly‑detection models, prepare analytical reports and present findings to internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Degree in economics, statistics, mathematics, computer science, finance or a related field.
• At least three years of experience in data mining, modelling, coding or financial‑transaction analysis.
• Strong quantitative background with formal training in statistics and experience applying it in research or operational settings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interaction at all organisational levels.
