Data Center Design Engineer / Architect

About the role

The successful candidate will design and develop integrated data centre and critical infrastructure solutions that meet client requirements and business objectives. This role blends technical expertise with client interaction and business development to deliver high‑performance, commercially viable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop data centre and critical infrastructure solutions.
• Prepare technical specifications, proposals, budgets and cost estimates.
• Engage with clients to capture requirements and create tailored designs.
• Support business development and drive solution‑based sales opportunities.
• Oversee implementation, testing, commissioning and hand‑over of solutions.
• Ensure designs meet performance, scalability, reliability and efficiency criteria.
• Maintain strong stakeholder relationships and ensure ongoing client satisfaction.

Required profile

• BSc or BEng in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Professional Engineer (PrEng) or Professional Technologist (PrTech) designation – beneficial.
• Relevant experience in data centre, critical infrastructure or engineering environments.
• Experience with power systems, cooling, BMS, SCADA or PLC systems.
• Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, ICT and backup power infrastructure.
• Exposure to renewable energy and energy storage systems.
• Excellent client‑facing, commercial and project management abilities.
