Data Analyst – Power BI & Databricks

About the role

We are looking for a Data Analyst to design, build and maintain scalable Power BI solutions that empower data‑driven decision‑making across the Africa & Middle East region. You will work end‑to‑end, from preparing data in Databricks to delivering intuitive dashboards, collaborating with data engineers, product managers, data scientists and business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards and semantic models.
• Create reusable dimensional data models (star and snowflake schemas).
• Prepare, transform and validate data in Databricks using SQL or Python.
• Validate BI outputs against business sources of truth and support UAT.
• Optimise query performance, model efficiency and report refresh times.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data integration, quality, refresh and performance issues.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into actionable insights.
• Stay current with emerging BI tools and share best practices within the team.

Required profile

• Graduate degree or formal qualification in a relevant field.
• 3–5 years of experience building Power BI solutions in a business environment.
• Strong analytical thinking, ownership and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Power BI (reports, dashboards, semantic models).
• DAX and Power Query for measures and data transformations.
• Databricks, SQL and Python for data preparation.
• Dimensional modelling (star/snowflake schemas) and Row‑Level Security.
• Understanding of data‑warehousing concepts.
