Customer Assistant – Till Operations

About the role

Woolworths is looking for a Customer Assistant to work at the tills in its Constantia Village store. You will be the first point of contact for shoppers at the checkout, ensuring fast, accurate and friendly service while supporting additional store services.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and create a positive checkout experience.
• Process all till transactions accurately, handling cash, card, airtime and utility bill payments.
• Promote Woolworths loyalty programmes and other value‑added services.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised till area in line with shop‑keeping standards.
• Check pricing accuracy, resolve discrepancies and report any irregularities.
• Follow loss‑prevention procedures to minimise shrinkage.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent NQF qualification.
• Strong customer‑service orientation with friendly communication.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and manage time effectively during shifts.
• Reliability, honesty and a proactive team attitude.
