Cost Accountant

About the role

The Cost Accountant will oversee material pricing, loss, expense and inventory management within a manufacturing environment. The role ensures accurate cost reporting, variance analysis and supports cost‑reduction initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Validate product BOMs, update material prices and perform monthly cost closing and variance analysis.
• Monitor process losses, scrap KPIs and trace external responsibilities.
• Review non‑product expense standards, audit new suppliers, manage outsourcing bids and analyse overspend.
• Maintain daily manufacture order (MO) data, review rework processes and follow up exceptions.
• Organise month‑end inventory counts, adjust accounts and analyse ageing stock.
• Track equipment efficiency, cycle times and downtime, establishing utilisation KPIs.
• Develop cost‑control metrics, job manuals and promote cost‑reduction culture.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience in manufacturing cost accounting or finance.
• Strong basic financial knowledge and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Fluent English (listening, speaking, reading, writing).
• High sense of responsibility, independent work capability and strong analytical skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting/ERP software such as SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Advanced Excel skills.
