Corporate Cashier – Customer Service & POS

About the role

This position is responsible for processing all cash, card and electronic payments in a corporate dining environment. The successful candidate will operate the point‑of‑sale (POS) system efficiently, deliver friendly and professional service, and support the catering team during busy periods.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately process cash, card and other payment transactions.
• Operate the POS system efficiently and balance cash drawers at the end of each shift.
• Provide courteous, professional customer service at all times.
• Assist with serving food and beverages when required.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cashier and service areas.
• Ensure products are correctly priced and displayed.
• Address customer queries and escalate concerns as needed.
• Adhere to food safety, hygiene, health and safety standards.
• Support the catering team during peak service periods.
• Assist with stock counts and basic administrative duties.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
• Previous cashier experience in catering, hospitality, retail, restaurant or corporate dining.
• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Professional appearance and a customer‑centric approach.
• Reliable, honest and trustworthy.
