Copywriter & Content Producer

About the role

Takealot.com, South Africa's leading online retailer, is seeking a talented Copywriter & Content Producer to join its Cape Town team. You will create compelling written and visual content that drives engagement across social, performance, and platform channels.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, shoot and edit high‑volume short‑form video (Reels, TikToks) and accompanying audio‑visual assets.
• Write and adapt persuasive copy for multiple channels, ensuring on‑brand storytelling.
• Collaborate with marketing teams to develop strong creative concepts and bring campaigns to life.
• Monitor South African social media trends, audience behaviour and competitor activity to keep content relevant.
• Measure, analyse and report on content performance to refine messaging and creative direction.
• Interpret creative briefs and coordinate with collaborators to deliver on schedule.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, copywriting, English or a related field.
• 2‑3 years experience in eCommerce, e‑learning or digital content production.
• Exceptional copywriting and conceptual thinking with razor‑sharp proof‑reading.
• Ability to produce varied content types consistently and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong organisational skills, creative mindset and results‑oriented attitude.
