Controls Service Technician - Building Automation

About the role

Johnson Controls is looking for a Controls Service Technician in Durban to join its Service team. The role ensures the reliability and performance of building automation and control systems for customers across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Perform service, maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs on Building Management Systems (BMS) and control systems
• Diagnose and resolve system faults so customers can operate reliably
• Support system testing, commissioning and optimisation
• Deliver good customer service while maintaining the highest safety standards
• Carry out planned and corrective maintenance at customer sites
• Use diagnostic tools to identify and fix technical issues
• Work with customers, Team Leaders and Service Managers to deliver efficient solutions
• Maintain accurate service documentation and follow all safety procedures

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Electrical, Electronic, Automation, Mechatronics or a related field
• Experience with BMS, HVAC controls, automation or industrial control systems
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel locally
