Contracts Manager

About the role

Surge Staffing Solutions is seeking a seasoned Contracts Manager to oversee the contractual and commercial aspects of major civil engineering and infrastructure projects in KwaZulu-Natal. The role involves managing contract administration from inception to completion, ensuring compliance, mitigating risks, and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Manage contract administration and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
• Identify and mitigate contractual risks throughout project delivery.
• Maintain collaborative relationships with contractors, consultants, and clients.
• Oversee procurement, claims management, and dispute resolution processes.

Required profile

• BSc, BEng, BTech or National Diploma in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years experience in civil engineering or infrastructure construction, preferably in water, bulk water, sewer or rising mains projects.
• Professional registration with ECSA or SACPCMP is advantageous.
• Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management abilities.

Required skills

• Familiarity with major construction contract frameworks such as FIDIC, NEC and JBCC.
• Expertise in contract administration, procurement, claims management and dispute resolution.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience using contract management software.
