Consumer Communications Writer – Marketing Team

About the role

We are seeking a Consumer Communications Writer to join the marketing team of a leading hospitality and conservation organisation in Sandton. The role blends creative storytelling with performance‑driven marketing to produce on‑brand content that engages consumers and supports our conservation mission.

Key responsibilities

• Write compelling copy for social media, website, landing pages, email/CRM, and campaign assets.
• Develop platform‑specific content, adapting tone while maintaining a consistent brand voice.
• Collaborate with marketing, creative and brand teams to shape campaign narratives, hooks and calls‑to‑action.
• Guard brand voice and editorial guidelines, reviewing and refining copy across the team.
• Optimize content for engagement, conversion and retention using SEO, CRO and social best practices.
• Research camps, ecosystems, wildlife and community stories to create authentic, emotionally resonant narratives.
• Spend time in the field to source first‑hand content and translate observations into engaging stories.

Required profile

• Mid‑to‑senior level experience in copywriting, content creation and brand storytelling.
• Strong ability to translate complex conservation or sustainability concepts into clear, accessible language.
• Proven track record of producing performance‑oriented content that drives measurable results.
• Excellent research skills and willingness to work on‑site in natural environments.
