Construction Site Clerk with BuildSmart Experience

About the role

Our client, a reputable construction company based in Somerset West, is looking for a detail‑oriented Construction Site Clerk to support day‑to‑day operations on a project site in Stellenbosch. The role combines administration, procurement, reporting and site support to ensure smooth project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Capture delivery notes and compile daily site reports using BuildSmart.
• Provide administrative support to the Site Agent, prepare monthly progress reports and project handover documentation.
• Order materials, coordinate deliveries, manage supplier queries and maintain contra charge registers.
• Monitor plant operating hours, log breakdowns and conduct regular stocktakes.
• Maintain Quality Assurance files, assist the Safety Officer, conduct site inspections and support Health & Safety committee actions.

Required profile

• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in construction administration or site clerk roles.
• Mandatory experience with BuildSmart software.
• Strong administrative, reporting and organisational abilities.
• Good understanding of construction site processes and documentation.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
