Construction Manager – Luxury Villa Project in Cape Town

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Senior Site Manager to lead the construction of a high‑end luxury villa in Cape Town. The role bridges our remote design and project teams with daily on‑site activities, ensuring the project meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and budgetary control.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all on‑site activities, ensuring compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections, promptly addressing safety or quality concerns.
• Ensure construction follows approved plans, drawings, and specifications.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager and Head of Construction to manage schedules, allocate resources, and oversee material procurement.
• Maintain rigorous quality control and monitor site‑level expenses against the approved budget.
• Coordinate subcontractors, skilled labour, and on‑site teams to sustain workflow and resolve challenges.
• Act as the primary liaison between the construction site and the wider project team, stepping in for the Head of Construction when required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture; postgraduate studies in Construction Management preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in construction site roles, with at least three full‑cycle projects completed in South Africa.
• Proven track record in luxury villa or high‑end residential construction.
• Strong knowledge of South African building codes, regulations, and construction practices.
• Fluent English for communication with international management and site teams.
