Construction Manager – Bloemfontein

About the role

The successful candidate will lead on‑site civil and electrical construction activities for infrastructure extensions in Bloemfontein. You will be accountable for managing contractors, tracking schedules and ensuring full statutory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily site works including civil foundations, structural layout and electrical integrations, ensuring conformity with technical drawings.
• Manage project timelines, baseline schedules and resource allocation, addressing variances and optimizing material use.
• Administer engineering and construction contracts, coordinate sub‑contractors and oversee contract deliverables.
• Enforce Occupational Health and Safety Act, construction regulations and internal safety procedures, maintaining a zero‑incident culture.
• Lead the preparation and approval of Inspection and Test Plans and compile data packs for client handover.
• Act as the primary on‑site liaison with project managers, engineers, clerk of works and community stakeholders, producing weekly and monthly progress reports.

Required profile

• Relevant degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Proven track record managing substation builds, transmission networks or distribution site projects.
• Strong familiarity with high‑voltage project structures and contract administration (FIDIC, NEC).
• Willingness to be based in or relocate to Bloemfontein for the duration of the project.
