Communications & Brand Manager

About the role

We are seeking a strategic communications professional to lead PPSHA’s communication, brand stewardship and reputation management. The role will shape the brand voice, drive stakeholder communication and enhance the organisation’s reputation across schemes, members, healthcare providers and the wider PPS Group.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and own the annual communications strategy aligned with business objectives and the Stakeholder Relations plan.
• Translate complex healthcare administration topics into clear, member‑centric narratives and manage scheme‑facing and client‑facing communications.
• Partner with EXCO members on executive messaging and ensure alignment with PPS Group communication standards.
• Maintain and protect the PPSHA brand identity, oversee collateral, tender documents and event branding, and manage relationships with external brand/PR partners.
• Lead brand positioning for new business pursuits, including tenders, sponsorships and conference presence.
• Manage PPSHA’s LinkedIn presence, content calendar, engagement strategy and analytics, and oversee all external digital touchpoints.
• Develop thought‑leadership content, coordinate media liaison and execute crisis communication when required.

Required profile

• Matric relevant Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or related field.
• 7–10 years progressive corporate communications experience, with at least 3 years in a senior specialist or manager role.
• Experience in financial services, healthcare or other regulated industries.
• Proven digital content strategy and social‑media leadership experience.
• Working knowledge of POPIA, FAIS and the Medical Schemes Act communication implications.
• Strong stakeholder relationship management and executive presence.
