Commercial Manager – Wine Resources

About the role

The Perdeberg Group is seeking a commercially‑minded professional to own and optimise its total wine resource. Reporting to the Head of Commercial, you will manage procurement, sales, stock, compliance and supplier relationships to drive growth across export and local markets.

Key responsibilities

• Allocate and procure grape‑sourced wine, source external parcels, manage contracts and conduct sensory assessments.
• Grow existing export and local customer base, prospect new accounts, set pricing and coordinate shipping schedules.
• Monitor demand planning, stock levels and financial performance, maintain a clean debtors book and produce monthly financial reports.
• Ensure accurate capture of transactions in SAWIS and Wine Online, manage customs, excise and export documentation (certificates of origin, EUR.1, health and phytosanitary certificates).
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships, coordinate quarterly newsletters and represent the company on international trade missions.

Required profile

• BSc Agriculture (Viticulture/Oenology) or equivalent winemaking qualification.
• Business or finance qualification is a plus.
• Deep knowledge of the wine industry with strong financial acumen and strategic thinking.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAWIS and Wine Online systems.
• Experience preparing customs and excise documentation.
• Ability to produce export documents such as certificates of origin, EUR.1 and phytosanitary certificates.
• Conducting formal sensory assessments of wine parcels.
