Commercial Finance Accountant – Sales & Margin Analysis

About the role

The Commercial Finance Accountant will support the Premier Sales Team by delivering accurate pricing, margin and analytical insights. This role ensures that sales‑related financial data is collected, recorded and analysed to drive profitable growth and informed decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver timely pricing, margin and ad‑hoc analytical reports for the sales team.
• Maintain commercial dealing parameters (base, cycle and promotional pricing) based on cost drivers and margin expectations.
• Assist in budgeting, volume and margin forecasting, and monitor selling and distribution cost categories.
• Ensure pricing structures and promotions are correctly entered in the ERP system to avoid margin leakage.
• Report monthly on margin impact of pricing claims and distributor claim‑backs.
• Analyse low‑margin products, customers and channels and propose profitability improvements.
• Provide EXCO and management with accurate commercial performance insights.
• Review NPD feasibility documents for financial accuracy and commercial viability.
• Support ad‑hoc commercial projects and participate in finance forums.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting (Honours preferred).
• 3‑5 years experience as a Management or Cost Accountant in the FMCG sector.
• Experience in sales & marketing finance, data analytics and supervisory roles.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems, specifically GP.
• Strong financial analysis and reporting capabilities.
