Data Analyst Internship – Internal Audit (12‑Month)

About the role

This 12‑month internship with OUTsurance provides hands‑on experience in internal audit within a leading South African financial services group. You will work alongside seasoned auditors, gaining exposure to governance, financial and operational audit processes across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct preliminary surveys and scoping to identify risks and define audit scope.
• Assist in designing audit programmes and documenting business processes.
• Execute fieldwork, perform audit tests, and populate working papers with findings.
• Liaise with audit management, team members and departmental clients to ensure effective collaboration.
• Participate in debriefings with department managers to communicate findings and recommendations.
• Contribute to drafting internal audit reports, detailing control deficiencies, risks and management responses.

• Relevant 3‑ or 4‑year degree or diploma in Internal Audit or an Honours degree in Internal Audit.
