Cluster Human Resource Manager – Cape Town Hotels

About the role

The Cluster Human Resource Manager will lead HR activities across the Breakwater Lodge and Mowbray properties of Protea Hotel by Marriott in Cape Town. Reporting to senior property management, you will ensure HR services are delivered efficiently, support recruitment, compensation, training and compliance with local legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the full recruitment cycle, including sourcing candidates, attending job fairs, managing vendor advertisements and ensuring a diverse talent pool.
• Provide expertise to property managers on selection procedures and conduct quality control of candidate assessments.
• Administer employee benefits and manage unemployment claim processes, preparing reports and representing the property at hearings.
• Develop and deliver orientation and ongoing training programs, ensuring new hires are cross‑trained and aligned with the hotel’s service standards.
• Maintain accurate HR records, monitor compliance with applicable laws and internal policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least three years of experience in human resources, operations management or a related field, OR a two‑year degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or similar with at least one year of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation and HR best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple hotel sites.
