Clinical and Public Health Fellow

About the role

The Clinical and Public Health Fellowship offers an enthusiastic registrar the chance to work at a national level within UKHSA. Based on a scientific campus or laboratory, the role blends clinical practice with public health research, outbreak response and policy development.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate and manage major incidents and infectious disease outbreaks.
• Contribute to infectious disease surveillance programmes and data analysis.
• Develop and implement guidance, policies and research projects.
• Collaborate with regional reference laboratories, directorates and divisions on service improvement.
• Participate in the design and delivery of training and educational activities.

Required profile

• Qualified registrar in Infectious Diseases, Medical Microbiology, Virology, Public Health or Paediatrics (including paediatric infectious diseases).
• Eligibility for Counter Terrorism Check (CTC) security clearance, with at least three years UK residency.
• Demonstrated motivation to work in a hybrid environment (minimum 60% on‑site).
