CHE Tutor – Hybrid Role in Johannesburg

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated CHE Tutor to join our higher education institution in Johannesburg. The tutor will provide academic support, mentorship and assessment assistance to students across a range of programmes, working both on‑site and remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver one‑to‑one and group tutoring sessions for assigned modules.
• Guide students through coursework, assignments and exam preparation.
• Monitor student progress, identify those needing extra help and provide constructive feedback.
• Assist in the preparation, administration and moderation of assessments.
• Maintain accurate attendance records, performance reports and other academic documentation.
• Support quality‑assurance processes and ensure compliance with accreditation standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Commerce, Business Management, HR, Finance, Accounting or a related field (post‑graduate qualification advantageous).
• Previous experience in tutoring, lecturing or academic support within a higher‑education setting.
• Strong understanding of higher‑education teaching practices and assessment methods.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience using online learning platforms or Learning Management Systems.

What we offer

• Competitive salary ranging from R20,000 to R25,000 per month.
• Full‑time hybrid work arrangement in Parktown, Johannesburg.
