Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) – Financial Reporting Lead

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) to lead our accounting operations, financial reporting and corporate compliance. The role sits at the heart of a highly regulated environment, supporting engineering, logistics and heavy‑industrial projects.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the full accounting cycle, preparing monthly management accounts, annual financial statements and strategic reporting packages.
• Maintain and enhance internal control policies, ensuring accurate bookkeeping, cash‑flow management and smooth external audits.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, SARS, corporate tax legislation and public‑sector governance frameworks.
• Develop organisational budgets, cost‑centre forecasts and variance analyses to support executive decision‑making.
• Collaborate closely with operational units, project engineering teams and external auditors to monitor financial health and profitability.

Required profile

• Valid CA(SA) registration with SAICA.
• 2‑4+ years post‑articles corporate accounting experience, preferably in engineering, state contracting or industrial logistics.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
• Knowledge of PFMA and public‑sector financial regulations.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, Syspro or Sage Evolution.
• Expert‑level MS Excel skills.
