Center Director – International Study Abroad Programs

About the role

The Center Director leads CIEE’s Cape Town hub, overseeing all program delivery, partnerships, and staff to ensure a high‑quality, safe, and engaging experience for international students and participants.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the center’s strategic plan, maintaining its attractiveness and operational readiness.
• Manage academic programming, including curriculum development, faculty recruitment, and internship coordination.
• Oversee student services such as visa processing, orientation, emergency response, and health‑safety protocols.
• Lead human‑resources functions: recruit, hire, onboard, and develop center staff and faculty.
• Build and sustain relationships with local universities, internship providers, housing vendors, and other service partners.
• Ensure compliance with academic, operational, and safety standards while managing the center’s budget.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level leadership experience in an international education or exchange environment.
• Strong track record of managing multidisciplinary teams and delivering programs on time and within budget.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills, with the ability to forge local partnerships.
