Cellar Operator I

About the role

The Cellar Operator I is responsible for handling barrels, tanks and bulk tankers within a production environment. This role ensures smooth material flow, maintains hygiene standards and supports the bottling line as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Load and off‑load barrels and bulk tankers.
• Fill, empty and transfer contents of barrels and tanks.
• Draw samples from barrels and tanks for quality checks.
• Assist with general duties on the bottling line when required.
• Support bulk and barrel stock‑take processes.
• Complete preventive maintenance (PM) inspections.
• Participate in problem‑solving and TPM Level 1 team activities.
• Ensure compliance with OHS Act standards and maintain cellar hygiene.
• Apply strict loss‑control measures and perform ad‑hoc duties as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
• SKOP training is highly advantageous.
• Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
• Physical fitness and strength to meet the job’s physical demands.
• Willingness to work overtime and perform duties across departments.
• Strong attendance, punctuality and team‑player attitude.

Required skills

• SKOP certification (safety and operational knowledge).
• Experience with preventive maintenance (PM) inspections.
