Care Worker – Support Nursing Unit

About the role
Mediclinic is seeking a Care Worker to join its nursing unit team. The role focuses on supporting safe and quality patient care while working closely with nursing staff in a hospital environment.
Key responsibilities
- Support and assist nursing unit staff in delivering quality patient care.
- Identify and report risks in line with hospital policies.
- Contribute to a positive patient experience by assisting the nursing team.
- Provide administrative support to the nursing unit as required.
- Participate in continuous personal development to build staff competence.
- Ensure efficient utilisation and accurate charging of required stock.
Required profile
- Appropriate qualification as a Care Worker.
- Grade 12 education.
- Essential experience in a healthcare environment.
Required skills
- Understanding of stock control principles.
- Ability to report and document events/tasks.
- Knowledge of medico‑legal risks.
- Familiarity with administrative tasks.
- Understanding of patient experience aspects.
- Understanding of patient care principles.
- Application of infection prevention and control principles.
