About the role

Mediclinic Potchefstroom is recruiting a permanent, on-site Care Worker for its orthopedics nursing unit. The role supports nursing unit staff in delivering safe, quality patient care that meets patients' healthcare needs. There is one position open, with a closing date of 4 November 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Support and assist nursing unit staff in delivering quality patient care within a team approach
• Identify and report risks in line with hospital policies
• Contribute to a positive patient experience by assisting nursing unit staff
• Provide administrative support to nursing unit staff as specified
• Contribute to a learning environment by taking part in continuous personal development
• Ensure required stock is used efficiently and charged accurately

Required profile

• Essential: an appropriate qualification as a Care Worker
• Desired: Grade 12
• Essential: experience in a healthcare environment; no experience desired

• Understanding of stock control principles
• Reporting and documenting events and tasks
• Knowledge of medico-legal risks
• Knowledge of administrative tasks
• Understanding of patient experience and patient care principles
• Application of infection prevention and control principles
