Buyer – Exterior Systems (IMG Body)

About the role

The Buyer for IMG Body Exterior will join the Exterior Systems team, working closely with supplier partners and cross‑functional teams. The focus is on managing cost, quality, delivery and resilience metrics for automotive exterior components.

Key responsibilities

• Negotiate and secure supplier commitments on cost, piece price, engineering changes and tooling.
• Issue purchase orders, lump‑sum payments and tool orders on schedule.
• Monitor supplier launch capacity, quality metrics and corrective actions.
• Drive cost‑reduction initiatives using Lean, Total Cost Management and benchmarking.
• Identify and mitigate supply risks, ensuring on‑time delivery for production parts.
• Support warranty and manufacturing cost recovery from suppliers.
• Collaborate with cost estimating to develop optimal cost estimates and benchmark gaps.

Required profile

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven negotiation and collaboration capabilities.
• Ability to manage change, conflict and supplier relationships.
• Business acumen and finance knowledge to make accurate sourcing decisions.

• Computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office).
