Business Development Representative – Payment Solutions

About the role

Join a fast‑growing global fintech environment as a Business Development Representative focused on payment solutions. Based in South Africa, you will help expand merchant acquisition across international markets by identifying, engaging, and qualifying high‑value prospects for payment processing and merchant services.

Key responsibilities

• Research and target high‑potential merchants and decision‑makers across multiple regions.
• Conduct outbound prospecting via phone, email, LinkedIn and other channels.
• Build and maintain a robust pipeline, ensuring accurate CRM tracking.
• Schedule discovery meetings and coordinate sales conversations for senior team members.
• Assist with presentations, proposals, negotiations and early‑stage onboarding.
• Maintain detailed CRM records and report on lead generation and conversion metrics.
• Represent the company at fintech conferences, trade shows and networking events.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth hand‑off from prospecting to onboarding.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience in B2B sales, business development, SDR or BDR roles.
• Proven exposure to fintech, payments, financial services, SaaS or banking technology.
• Demonstrated success in outbound prospecting and lead generation.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with enterprise stakeholders.
