Business Development Manager – SADC (Durban Based)

About the role

The Business Development Manager will lead end‑to‑end management of distributors and key customers across the SADC region, based in Durban. You will be responsible for achieving sales and profit targets while driving growth and market share for Beiersdorf.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute key account plans, including OTIF delivery and promotional strategies.
• Forecast customer volume, manage budgeting, and provide accurate monthly and annual sales forecasts.
• Analyse data sources (promotions, ROS, stock levels) to support demand planning and sales forecasting.
• Prepare and present monthly/quarterly customer reviews with risk and opportunity analysis.
• Collaborate with shopper & customer marketing teams to optimise the path‑to‑purchase and implement NPD initiatives.
• Negotiate joint business plans, manage shelf space, placement, distribution and promo compliance.
• Maintain strong relationships with senior customer contacts across functions.

Required profile

• BCom or equivalent qualification.
• 4–6 years of experience in key account or business development management.
• Experience in SADC markets is an advantage.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to interpret financial and sales data.

• Computer literacy.
