Business Development Manager

About the role

We are looking for a results‑driven Business Development Manager to lead the expansion of our Salix Track product portfolio within the rail track infrastructure sector across South Africa and the wider African region. The role focuses on identifying new opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and driving revenue growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute business development strategies to increase market share for rail track products in South Africa and the broader African market.
• Identify, qualify and secure new business opportunities within target sectors and customer segments.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision‑makers, distributors and strategic partners.
• Conduct market analysis to uncover industry trends, customer needs and competitive activities.
• Deliver product presentations, demonstrations and commercial proposals to prospective customers.
• Collaborate with marketing, technical and operational teams to support customer acquisition and retention.
• Manage sales pipelines, forecasts and performance reporting to achieve revenue targets.
• Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions and networking opportunities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development, sales or account management.
• Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
• Track record of developing and closing new business opportunities.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building capabilities.
• Self‑motivated, entrepreneurial mindset with a history of meeting sales targets.
• Experience in rail infrastructure is advantageous.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel within South Africa.
