Business Development Manager – Engineering & Procurement (Remote)

About the role

The Business Development Manager will support revenue growth and market expansion for a fast‑growing engineering and procurement company serving the oil & gas and energy sectors. Working remotely from South Africa, you will engage with EPC contractors, operators and procurement teams across international markets.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities in oil & gas and energy.
• Develop and maintain relationships with operators, EPC contractors and procurement teams.
• Promote engineering solutions, steel products, equipment and procurement services.
• Monitor market trends, upcoming projects and tender opportunities.
• Lead preparation and submission of technical and commercial proposals.
• Negotiate contracts and support successful deal closure.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement and logistics teams to ensure project delivery.
• Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions and client meetings.
• Support strategic expansion into North Europe, Africa and Asia.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or related field.
• 5–10 years of business development or commercial experience in oil & gas or energy.
• Proven track record working with engineering, procurement or EPC companies.
• Strong understanding of the oil & gas project lifecycle (upstream, midstream, downstream).
• Established network with operators and EPC contractors.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and presentation abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently.

Required skills

• Familiarity with steel products, forging and piping systems.
• Knowledge of API, ASTM and ISO industry standards.
• Experience with ERP systems, specifically Microsoft Business Central.
