Business Development Executive

About the role

Our client, a leading African insights, research and data analytics organisation, is seeking a Business Development Executive to drive growth across the continent. The role focuses on identifying high‑value prospects, securing new contracts and expanding the company’s footprint in targeted industries.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, qualify and secure new business opportunities across targeted sectors.
• Develop and execute strategic account plans to maximise revenue and client retention.
• Build trusted relationships with executive‑level stakeholders and understand their business challenges.
• Lead commercial proposals, presentations and contract negotiations.
• Collaborate with internal delivery teams to ensure an exceptional client experience.
• Drive cross‑selling and upselling opportunities within existing accounts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Economics, Psychology or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in Business Development, Key Account Management, Sales or Management Consulting.
• Proven track record of achieving and exceeding new‑business targets.
• Experience managing strategic client relationships and complex commercial sales cycles.
• Strong commercial acumen, negotiation and presentation skills.
• Experience in research, consulting, business intelligence or data analytics is highly advantageous.
