Business Development Manager - Lead Generation

About the role

The Business Development Manager will focus on acquiring new enterprise clients for a broad portfolio of IT services, managed services and software platforms. Success is measured by building a personal pipeline, engaging senior decision‑makers and converting opportunities into signed contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Generate new business across advisory projects, annuity managed services and platform subscriptions, primarily through personal network, direct outreach and referrals.
• Lead complex, multi‑stakeholder sales cycles (3‑9 months), construct commercial cases and negotiate terms while protecting margin.
• Develop opportunities across the full portfolio, positioning the Aiyoda platform and identifying channel or partner routes to market.
• Represent the company at industry events, vendor forums and client briefings, providing market intelligence and contributing to service proposition development.
• Maintain accurate CRM records, forecast accurately, report weekly activity and ensure structured handover to delivery teams.

Required profile

• Minimum five years’ experience selling IT services, enterprise software or managed services with a proven new‑business track record.
• Established network of senior IT and finance decision‑makers in South African enterprise and upper‑mid‑market organisations.
• Consultative, value‑based selling experience with ability to present commercial models, savings cases and pay‑back analysis to finance audiences.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft commercial offerings (Enterprise Agreements, CSP programme, Microsoft 365, Azure consumption models).
• Excellent written and spoken English, a valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel regularly.
