Branch Manager - Express Courier (Medium Branch)

About the role

Our client, a leading express courier and logistics organisation, is looking for an experienced Branch Manager to run a medium‑sized branch in Johannesburg. You will be responsible for overseeing both First Mile (collection) and Last Mile (delivery) operations, ensuring parcels move efficiently while meeting service, operational and financial targets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily branch performance, driving operational and financial objectives.
• Manage parcel collection schedules, monitor collection KPIs and ensure service‑level compliance.
• Oversee final‑mile deliveries, resolve issues and improve delivery efficiency.
• Control fleet and owner‑driver utilisation, monitor costs and maintain vehicle compliance.
• Supervise parcel processing, scanning, sorting and dispatch workflows.
• Develop and coach branch staff and owner drivers, fostering a high‑performance culture.
• Maintain budgets, monitor profitability and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing a logistics or courier branch, preferably medium size.
• Strong leadership and people‑management skills.
• Ability to analyse operational data and implement corrective actions.
• Excellent customer‑service orientation and stakeholder management.
• Solid understanding of fleet, route planning and cost control.
