Branch Manager (Channel Manager: Sales & Service) - FAIS

About the role

Absa is recruiting a Branch Manager (Channel Manager: Sales & Service) in Warden. The role provides strategic and operational leadership to a large or complex branch (or multiple service points), delivering sustainable growth, strong governance and exceptional customer outcomes in line with the bank's strategy. It covers commercial results, cash, devices, audits and compliance, sales, service and digital adoption, community representation and leadership development.

Key responsibilities

• Lead nodal operations with accountability for people, process and performance
• Drive commercial growth and service excellence across multiple service points
• Oversee DHA and MVNO functions, ensuring efficient verification and ID smart card issuing
• Strengthen compliance and operational integrity in civic services
• Expand market presence through oversight of RIB and external sales
• Build resilient, high-performing teams and ensure all performance targets are met
• Accountability for full branch P&L (where applicable), growth, profitability and productivity targets
• Lead senior branch leadership teams, build a leadership pipeline and succession plans, and foster ethical leadership
• Own branch risk, conduct and regulatory compliance, manage audits, governance forums and material risk events, and ensure strong controls and TCF adherence
• Engage key clients, community structures and external partners, and act as a brand ambassador
• Deliver an exceptional in-branch customer experience, promote efficient service and alternative banking channels, and uphold Absa's service standards in a safe, professional environment

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or advanced diploma in Banking
• Bachelor's degree or advanced diploma in Business Administration
