Bookkeeper / Junior Accountant

About the role

The Bookkeeper / Junior Accountant will maintain accurate financial records, support month‑end and year‑end processes, and assist the finance team with daily accounting and reporting tasks. This position is ideal for a BCom graduate seeking practical experience in a growing finance environment.

Key responsibilities

• Record day‑to‑day financial transactions and journal entries, keeping the general ledger up to date.
• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Monitor cash flow, support budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Prepare VAT submissions and other statutory filings.
• Produce management reports as required.
• Support audit processes by providing documentation and explanations.
• Maintain organized filing of financial records and documentation.

Required profile

• BCom degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 5+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy and good organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ethical, trustworthy and professional demeanor.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with Sage X3 (beneficial).
