About the role

Unique Personnel is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to support the financial operations of its property management portfolio in Johannesburg. The role focuses on accurate bookkeeping, reconciliation, and reporting for multiple properties, ensuring compliance with statutory and council requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to audit and landlord queries within the management agreement scope.
• Code monthly expenses for Norwood Urban Village and perform supplier age analysis.
• Prepare and reconcile monthly creditor control accounts, council schedules, and bank statements.
• Attend landlord and weekly finance meetings, present minutes, and follow up on actions.
• Oversee the creditors team, reviewing daily, weekly and monthly work of clerks.
• Sign off statutory, council and KPI schedules, ensuring departmental deadlines are met.
• Validate monthly supplier reconciliations and ensure they match supplier age analysis.
• Escalate any non‑attendance or missed deliverables to management.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in property management.
• Proficiency with the MDA property management software.
• Ability to reconcile general ledger balances to trial balances.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective communication with property managers, landlords, tenants and vendors.
